The Plucky Packers, a Sad Slate of Games on Christmas & Bad News for Jalen Hurts

View descriptionShare

On today's episode, Jason kick things off with a few thoughts on the Green Bay Packers' win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night. The Packers defense harassed Baker Mayfield all night long while Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones led a balanced Packers offense. No one really expects Green Bay to make the postseason but they did show they're capable of playing the kind of complimentary football it takes to win in the playoffs (at least for a night). Later, J-Mac goes up and down the Christmas Day NFL and NBA slate of games. What seemed like a gift a few months ago is now shaping up to be a lump of coal. Whether it's due to injury (Steph Curry Anthony Davis, Matthew Stafford and Kyler Murray) or generally underwhelming play (Luka Doncic's Mavs, LeBron James' Lakers, Tom Brady's Buccaneers and Russell Wilson's Denver Broncos), most of these games are setting up to be total snoozefests. Let's just hope someone can turn in a Christmas Miracle. Finally, our fearless leader closes the show by sharing his thoughts on the shoulder injury to Jalen Hurts that is expected to sideline the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback for at least a couple of weeks. Can Hurts still win the NFL MVP if he misses the final 3 games of the regular season, including that much-anticipated NFC East showdown with the Dallas Cowboys? More importantly, can the Eagles stay afloat and secure the top-seed in the NFC without their starting quarterback?
