Nothing Makes Sense in Week 8, Cowboys are the Best in the NFC & a Looming College Football Playoff Problem

View descriptionShare

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on a wild Week 8 in the NFL where backup quarterbacks like Cooper Rush in Dallas and Mike White in New York ruled the day. Nothing went according to plan on Sunday; The upstart Cincinnati Bengals got knocked off by White and the Jets, the San Francisco 49ers offense came alive on the road against the Chicago Bears, and Justin Herbert looked more like a middle-of the road quarterback than the 'Next Big Thing' in the NFL - just to name a few. But the biggest surprise of all was Rush leading the Cowboys to a primetime victory against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. Dallas showed the past few years that they can win games on the ground with Ezekiel Elliott, they showed earlier this year that they can win through the air with Dak Prescott, and last night they showed they can win with a backup quarterback and a stout defense. No matter how you slice it, the Dallas Cowboys are the best team in the NFL right now. Later, Jason tells us why he has a sneaking suspicion that the #2 ranked Cincinnati Bearcats are going to get left out of the College Football Playoff. Everyone expects Oklahoma and Ohio State to win out, and if Alabama upsets Georgia in the SEC Championship game, where does that leave Cincinnati? Exactly. Finally, Jason closes the show with a very special Kansas City Chiefs vs New York Giants Monday Night Football edition of the Best Bet.
