On today's episode, Jason and Producer Rob G have a lengthy conversation about Aaron Rodgers' future in Green Bay following a report that he has issued an 'It's either him or me' ultimatum to the front office regarding general Brian Gutekunst. If it was really that simple, the clear and obvious answer would be to axe the GM. Gutekunst has been mostly terrible running the show for the Packers over the last 3 seasons - and that's excluding his decision to trade up into the first round last year to draft third string quarterback Jordan Love. But assuming that it's not as easy as Rodgers vs. Gutekunst, it's not all that unusual to see a star quarterback end his career in a different jersey. Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady all had Hall of Fame career with one franchise only to spend their final days in a different uniform. Finally, it's time to stop blaming disgruntled athletes or wanting out of town when things go haywire. They have a right to pursue their own happiness just like any other person. If Rodgers feels disrespected by the Packers and decides he'd rather finish his career in another jersey, who are we to blame him? Fans wants their athletes to love their teams as much as they do, but what they fail to understand is this is still just a job to them. Loyalty doesn't exist in sports; it never has.
