But if you ask the players who were there, they remember the other stuff: Elephants at the ground, pop stars in the hotels, monkeys on the nets, luggage falling off the bus, missed flights, oppressive heat, torrential rain and Christmas abroad.

The Cricket Australia XI lasted three seasons in the domestic One-Day Cup competition. 

From 18 matches, they won only twice, and finished bottom of the table in each of their three seasons.

However, the squad has produced 7 Test players with Brendan Doggett the latest to receive a Baggy Green. 

This episode looks back at those years with a seven-team tournament and speaks to those who were part of the inaugural CA XI squad.
