- SpaceX (SPCX) shares rise. SpaceX's weighting in the Nasdaq 100 Index is expected to rise after the index's next rebalancing, which is set to be announced on Friday and take effect on Sept. 21. The increase in weighting could force $12.4 billion of net passive buying from index funds and ETFs, according to revised estimates by JPMorgan Securities strategists.

- Qualcomm (QCOM) shares gain. Qualcomm Inc. said it signed up Amazon.com Inc. as a data center chip customer in a deal that will span "multiple generations" and gives Amazon the right to acquire as much as $4 billion in shares. The tie-up will create customized silicon to support Amazon Web Services artificial intelligence infrastructure, with the two working on chips that run AI services and others that connect computer components.

- Roivant (ROIV) shares climb. The drugmaker said a mid-stage study of its inhaled drug, mosliciguat, met its primary endpoint in the treatment for a lung disease.
