Amgen Tumbles, Oracle Rises, Bloom Energy Gains on Upside From S&P 500 Inclusion

Amgen (AMGN) shares tumble. Shares of makers of heart drugs like Ionis Pharmaceuticals and Amgen are lower after Novartis AG said its heart medication, pelacarsen, failed in a final-stage study.

Oracle (ORCL) shares gain. Analysts are growing optimistic about the software company’s upcoming results, due after the market close on Thursday. The stock is on track for a fourth straight positive session, and has gained 19% over that stretch.

Bloom Energy (BE) shares gain. Bloom Energy and Everpure shares are rising on Tuesday after S&P Dow Jones Indices said the companies will join the S&P 500 Index, effective prior to the open of trading on Sept. 21.
