Jes Kramer's Performance Therapy

View descriptionShare

A lot of musicians experience some kind of stage fright. Grand Rapids multi-instrumentalist, Jes Kramer, is no different. But for Jes, there’s a therapeutic quality of performing. While she’s on stage, she practices something called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing - or EMDR. It’s a psychotherapy tool used to process anxiety and trauma. On today’s pod, we're talking with Jes about how EMDR works, live performance, and maintaining creativity during the pandemic. We’ll also vibe out to some of Jes’s music.
