Since moving networks from Ten to Seven three years ago, the former Bondi Vet, I'm A Celeb and Dancing With The Stars host is back front and centre to launch two new projects that have taken him across Australia and around the globe, leaving him with what he calls a “very healthy” relationship with his frequent flyer account.

And after years of interest and speculation about his love life, that’s not the only relationship Dr Chris opens up about in this conversation. He tells us what it has been like to have fathered nine babies and been married seven times – at least according to the celebrity rumour mill – and explains how he is, indeed, currently in relationship with a woman who “just gets it”.

Chris also reveals the challenges of hosting a renovation show when you’re a colourblind vet, how his mother’s 13 year journey with Alzheimer’s has shaped how he approaches his day-to-day life, and tells the wild story of how he unexpectedly found himself getting charged by a herd of “cocaine hippos” in rural Colombia.
