What happens when God completely transforms a life—and then uses that person’s darkest past to bring hope to others?

On this episode of Sit on That Stump in Muddy Bottom, Vicki Parker sits down with Carol Everett, a former abortion clinic owner whose life took a dramatic turn after encountering Jesus Christ.

Carol shares her firsthand story of entering the abortion industry after having an abortion herself, eventually becoming deeply involved in the business side of abortion. She discusses the financial incentives she says drove the industry, the methods used to persuade women to choose abortion, and the physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences she witnessed during her years inside it.

But Carol’s story is ultimately about redemption.

She recounts the moment a Christian business counselor told her that God loved her and explained the Gospel to her. After putting her faith in Jesus, Carol began seeing the women entering her clinic differently. Within weeks, circumstances forced her out of the abortion business and began a completely new chapter of her life.

After a season of spiritual growth and healing, Carol began sharing her testimony, speaking to churches and pro-life organizations, testifying before the Texas legislature, and eventually helping pregnancy resource centers serve women and families.

Carol and Vicki also discuss why they believe abortion should be understood by Christians not merely as a political issue, but as a spiritual and Gospel issue—and why churches have an opportunity to minister to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies.
