The Federal government contributes less than ten-percent of the public school budget.  But the conditions the Department of Education attaches to those dollars are significant, and arguably harmful to public education.  Is it time to abolish the DE?  Sheri Few of the USPIE (US Parents Involved in Education) says, “Yes.”
