There’s a special kind of joy in saying this: welcome back to Blues With A Feeling. After a big few weeks of new music, travel, and life rolling on as it does, I’m settling in behind the mic tonight with something a little different — a blend of the brand‑new and the deeply familiar.
We’ll open the show with two sets of fresh releases from across the blues world — John Primer & Friends lighting up the room with a tribute to Theresa’s Lounge, Chris O’Leary digging deep on his new Blue Collar record, Taj mahal & the Phantom Blues Band, and Aaron West flying the Koori Jack flag with all the swagger you’d expect. And that’s just the first set.
But then… we’re going back.
This week, I’m revisiting one of the most meaningful episodes I’ve ever made: my tribute to the great Paul Oscher. When Paul passed, the blues world lost a storyteller, a tone‑master, a man who carried Muddy’s bandstand spirit into the modern age. That original show was built with a full heart, and tonight I’m bringing it back — reshaped, remixed, and threaded with the wisdom of a few more years.
You’ll hear the songs from the albums that defined Paul’s last decades — Alone With The Blues, Cool Cat, Bet On The Blues, Knockin’ on the Devil’s Door — along with the interview grabs that gave us Paul in his own words. The stories still hit. The tone still stuns. The man still matters.
Thanks for listening, sharing, and keeping BWAF alive in its 33rd year.
Settle in. This one’s special.
