A researcher in the science of happiness has written a book that teaches us all how to feel more loved. Professor Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky says previous research on happiness has focused on the love we feel FOR others, but she makes the argument that what truly makes us happy is the love we feel FROM others. How do we get that feeling? By changing our conversations. If we intentionally have conversations where we listen to learn, where we don’t interrupt or give advice or turn the topic to ourselves, our partners will feel more loved and, in turn, will become more willing and even eager to do the same for you.

A heartbreaking, yet beautiful love story is emerging out of Arkansas. 24-year-old Arkansas police officer Fred Marsh proposed to his girlfriend of three years and then went on a canoe trip with another couple to celebrate. Within hours of his proposal, his brand new fiancée, Hailey,  struggled while in the water and Marsh immediately jumped into the river to push her towards the canoe, and to safety.  Unfortunately, Marsh then struggled, became exhausted, and slipped under the water, never to come back up again alive. We remember the young man who died, as he lived, a hero to the love of his life, to his family and to the community he served.
