Social media platform X (formally Twitter) is using New Zealand as a testing ground for a plan to charge new users.
The platform's owner Elon Musk plans to charge new users $1 a year to use X.
Users can opt out, but that means they won't be able view posts and not post anything.
Musk says this is to weed out bots on the platform.
