He joined Francesca Rudkin to reminisce about renowned radio broadcaster Lindsay Yeo, who passed away earlier this week, and chat about Stephen Fry, who’s show he saw in Wellington on Wednesday.

Kevin Milne: Celebrating exceptional entertainers

Running a marathon is a task on many people's bucket lists – whether that be a half or a full. 

Some even dedicate themselves to ultramarathons – running 60 kilometres every day for 28 days. But most people don't run it in the coldest, windiest, and driest desert on Earth, enduring sub-zero temperatures and 100 kilometre winds.  

Donna Urquhart, a pain doctor, undertook that exact Herculean task, picking up a Guiness World Record for her efforts and has written a book about it – 'Life Without Limits'.  

She told Jack Tame the idea came about in 2021, when she was watching a video podcast in which Australian polar explorer Eric Phillips was talking about his expeditions in Antarctica. 

"I was just captivated by listening to him and also watching some of the footage," Urquhart explained.  

"I've always wanted to go on a big adventure ... I thought, oh wow, I wonder if you can run in Antarctica, and if so how far can we go? And that was the beginning."

'Water For Gasoline' was written and recorded in the musician's own garage studio this year, the songs record live, and most in a single take.  

Chris Schulz told Jack Tame there's a rawness and intimacy to the album, the music sounding warm and inviting. 

He described it as her best album yet.
