Two people remain unaccounted for after Auckland was clobbered by torrential rain.

A man is missing after being swept away in floodwaters just after 10pm in Onewhero -- a second person is missing after a landslide bought down a house in Remuera.

Meanwhile Police say two bodies were found on the North Shore overnight.

One man was found dead in a flooded culvert in Wairau Valley, the other in a flooded carpark on Link Drive.

Deputy Prime Minister Carmel Sepuloni is at the Kelston evacuation centre, where are 60 people have sought help.

She told Tim Beveridge the flooding in her electorate of Kelston is horrendous.

Carmel Sepuloni: Deputy Prime Minister updates on Auckland flooding from Kelston evacuation centre

Allyson Gofton is the face of wholesome, heartwarming Kiwi home cooking. 

She was the face of 'Food in a Minute', has written several cookbooks, and her recipes and advice have helped many households get food on the table. 

Her newest cookbook, 'Give', is on shelves now, and this one's not just designed to help Kiwis, but also raise money for Breast Cancer Cure research. 

The idea for the book came to Gofton when she was walking her dog one day, and came across a Dragon Boating competition, filled entirely with breast cancer survivors. 

"I looked at these women, and I was filled with joy ... I thought, surely the person that was Allyson Gofton, that girl that wrote all the cookbooks, who's had some time out, surely, I could do something to give back," Gofton told Jack Tame. 

"I thought, surely that girl that was supported by New Zealand women could do something to give back."

With Māori Language Week just over the horizon, Kevin Milne is thinking about just how far broadcasters have come. 

He took Jack Tame back to NZBC in 1971, his first year in radio, and the job he was assigned to compile the weekly radio news in te reo.
