Daryl Chin calls himself a third generation Australian born Chinese, or as he jokes: an ABC. His family are from the old Darwin, in fact his grandfather was born in the tropical Top End city. Daryl shares stories of a time when Chinese migrants outnumbered Europeans by as many as 6 to 1, and Chinatown was the heart and soul of the remote city. Join Daryl as he shares the history, religion and traditions of Darwin’s Chinese community.

Salty Plum Stories is a Discover Darwin podcast for the City of Darwin.

It was produced by Lori Uden and Cinnamon Nippard, with editorial support from Johanna Bell and mixing by Hamish Robertson.

The incredible soundtrack was composed and mixed by Kuya James and Tutup Mulut.
