Connie Jape was born in a tiny village in East Timor and has 9 brothers and sisters. Her father was passionate about educating his kids. After fleeing the war in East Timor, Connie’s family arrived in Darwin just after Cyclone Tracy, and despite the devastation, her father saw opportunity. Connie shares a story common to many families looking for a better future, and her passion for the country of her birth and true multiculturalism shines through.
