Political Analyst Professor, Ntsikelelo Breakfast says he hopes the interventions announced by President Ramaphosa in his SONA speech to fix the water crisis and the state of local government will bear fruit. In dealing with the current water crisis faced by a number of municipalities across the country, Ramaphosa announced action plans. The establishment of a national water crisis committee and the litigation against municipalities for contravening the provisions of the National Water Act, primarily the unlawful discharges of pollution were amongst some of the top priorities.
