South Africa's unbeaten run at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup has come to an end with a crushing seven-wicket defeat to Australia in a top-of-the-table match in Indore, India. The unbeaten Aussies who decided to bowl first, skittled the Proteas for a paltry 97 inside 25 overs The result means Australia will play fourth placed India in Thursday's second semifinal, while South Africa and England will clash in Guwahati in the first semifinal on Wednesday. Proteas taste first defeat as they head for semifinals at Women's Cricket World Cup 

U.S. President Donald Trump LAST NIGHT moved swiftly to replace tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court with a temporary 10% global import duty for 150 days and ordered new investigations under other laws that could allow him to re-impose the tariffs. He lambasted the justices who rejected his trade policy as "fools". In a 6-3 decision, the court held that the president had overstepped his powers when he introduced global tariffs at the start of his presidency which included a 30 percent  tax on South African goods. The decision is seen as a major victory for businesses and US states that had challenged the duties, opening the door to potentially billions of dollars in tariff refunds. To discuss this development, Bongiwe Zwane spoke to international trade expert and communication and reputation management consultant, Tshepo Matseba

Trump announces new 10% global tariff after raging over Supreme Court loss

Hope to locate and rescue the five trapped miners at Ekapa Minerals Mine in Kimberly while still alive are diminishing by the day. This follows a mudslide incident in the early hours Tuesday morning nearly 900 metres underground. Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister, Gwede Mantashe, says there is a possibility that the mine workers are dead. Minister Mantashe explains as rescue efforts are still continuing. Bongiwe Zwane spoke to NUMSA's representative at the mine, Lerato Mohatlane

The annual Armed Forces Day aimed at commemorating the sinking of the SS Mendi on 21 February 1917 is expected to take place today in Thohoyandou Limpopo. The SS Mendi is deemed one of South Africa's worst tragedies of the First World War, with the death of 646 troops, all belonging to the SA Native Labour Corps. The last Armed Forces Day was held in 2023 in Richards Bay while the 2024 edition was cancelled due to budget constraints. No formal event was held last year following the deaths of 14 South African soldier in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) while deployed on a southern African regional bloc peacekeeping mission. For more on what to expect and the controversy over the parade bugdet, Bongiwe Zwane spoke to SA Navy Captain, Theo Mabina and Professor Abel Esterhuyse from the Faculty of Military Science at Stellenbosch University
