U.S. President Donald Trump LAST NIGHT moved swiftly to replace tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court with a temporary 10% global import duty for 150 days and ordered new investigations under other laws that could allow him to re-impose the tariffs. He lambasted the justices who rejected his trade policy as "fools". In a 6-3 decision, the court held that the president had overstepped his powers when he introduced global tariffs at the start of his presidency which included a 30 percent  tax on South African goods. The decision is seen as a major victory for businesses and US states that had challenged the duties, opening the door to potentially billions of dollars in tariff refunds.
