As most South Africans prepare to ring in the new year, two communities left devastated following two drowning incidents. Two devastating drowning incidents have marred the festive season. On Christmas Day, a child went missing while swimming with friends near the N2 Freeway, Swartkops River Bridge. Despite a swift response from emergency services, the child's body was recovered, and sadly, they were pronounced deceased. In a separate incident, a 53-year-old fisherman was found deceased on rocks along the shoreline at Seaview, Gqeberha.
