The statutory rape case against a 28-year-old man who allegedly raped a thirteen-year-old girl has been postponed to the 5TH of May 2025. The matter was heard this morning in the Seshego magistrate's court, outside Polokwane, in Limpopo.  The girl gave birth to a baby boy on Christmas Day at the Seshego Hospital.  IDAC accountability must extend beyond Johnson, says Public Interest SA 

The Gauteng Department of Education has announced that applications for admission to Grade 1 and Grade 8 for the 2027 academic year will officially open at on Wednesday the 5th August 2026, and close at midnight on Friday the 4th of September 2026. Gauteng Education MEC Lebogang Maile says during this period, all parents and legal guardians seeking placement for learners entering Grade 1 or Grade 8 at a public school in Gauteng must submit their applications exclusively through the Gauteng Online Admissions System. Maile says parents must register using new login credentials, as previous usernames and passwords will not be valid.

Addressing the opening of the Seventh Pan-African Parliament in Midrand, he said the continent faces growing challenges from global conflicts, economic instability and climate change. Ramaphosa urged African countries to stand together to shape their own future and extended condolences to countries affected by recent disasters, calling for greater continental solidarity.
