RISE Mzansi says it is deeply concerned about a surge in violent crimes across South Africa. Multiple shootings and a stabbing have led to the loss of young lives in several parts of the country. Three people were shot, one fatally, outside the Mithcells Plain SAPS in Cape Town. This occurred while the Western Cape Provincial Commissioner was speaking at an imbizo nearby. In the same province, At least five people were killed and five others injured in gun violence over the weekend. In Mpumalanga: Three men were fatally shot in Mkhuhlu. In  Gauteng, a 15-year-old learner was stabbed to death in Toekomsrus and in the North West, five bodies were found at an open-cast mine. RISE Mzansi is calling for stricter measures against illegal firearms to curb the escalating violence. Elvis Presslin spoke to Rise Mzanzi Head of Communication & Parliamentary Operations, Mabine Seabe
