Sponsored: PKE, or palm kernel expeller, is a by-product of the palm oil industry. It is predominantly exported out of Indonesia and Malaysia, who are its two biggest producers. Here in New Zealand, PKE has historically been a good cheap feed that fills feed gaps for farmers. Despite its popularity, PKE has also been associated with the destruction of rainforests and a reduction in biodiversity, so many farmers are now actively looking at alternative products.
