Full Show | Morehouse College Opens Multimedia Center Thanks to MJ; Kevin Hart Sex Tape Brought Up in New Legal Case; Mental Health Expert Dr. Tartt Joins RSMS Crew; Young Thug Lawyer Talks Rap Lyrics in Court

From an HBCU investment shaping the next generation of storytellers to courtroom battles over celebrity privacy and artistic freedom, this episode delivers culture, controversy, and a timely call to check on the people we love. The crew celebrates Morehouse College’s new state-of-the-art Multimedia Center, funded through Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand’s more than $1 million commitment to journalism and sports-related scholarships and programming; the center gives students hands-on training in digital storytelling, sports broadcasting, podcasting, filmmaking, and emerging media. Gary With the Tea then revisits Kevin Hart’s 2017 recording scandal as former assistant Miesha Shakes seeks testimony from Montia Sabbag in Hart’s ongoing lawsuit accusing Shakes of breaching a nondisclosure agreement and defaming him; Hart denies wrongdoing, Shakes disputes the agreement’s validity, and prior litigation involving Sabbag was dismissed without determining whether her allegations were true.

In a World Mental Health Day conversation, psychologist Dr. Alduan Tartt urges listeners to go beyond the automatic “I’m good” by asking how happy someone is, offering sincere support, and recognizing that stress may show up through isolation, irritability, poor sleep, physical tension, or overworking. He encourages short, honest check-ins, trusted community, and action alongside faith, while reminding listeners that the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by call or text around the clock for anyone in crisis. The show also tackles artistic freedom as Young Thug attorney Brian Steel argues that rap lyrics are too often treated as literal confessions while violent themes in literature, opera, country, and rock are recognized as creative expression; the debate echoes the YSL case, where a judge allowed prosecutors to conditionally introduce selected lyrics if they could connect them to alleged crimes. Steel says that uneven standard unfairly prejudices hip-hop artists and turns performance into prosecution.
