August payrolls exploded by 162,000—about triple the consensus and above every Wall Street estimate. July’s reported job loss was revised away. Unemployment held at 4.1% even as 683,000 people poured into the labor force. Restaurants, factories, and local schools led the rebound heading into Labor Day weekend.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent—longtime War Room contributor, 2024 campaign economist, transition lead, now Treasury chief—walks Steve Bannon through how a “blowout” jobs print fits the plan he and President Trump have sold for years: tariffs, re-industrialization, smaller federal payroll, and jobs going to Americans as immigration and deportations shrink the labor supply.

Markets immediately priced a higher chance of a September Fed hike. Wage growth is still lagging inflation. Voters remain angry about the cost of living two months from the midterms. Bessent’s brief: this is supply-side strength, not a sugar high.
