The proposed Marriage Bill aims to create a unified system that governs all types of marriages in South Africa. Proponents argue that it addresses the inequalities of the current system, which treats different forms of marriage — civil, customary, and Muslim — differently. Despite many advances in access to healthcare, thousands of women and girls who live in remote, resource-constrained communities still struggle to access the care they need. Lerato Mbele spoke to co-founders of Flexigyn, Dr. Edmund Wessels and Chris K. Meunier.

Lerato Mbele was joined by Prof. Pitika Ntuli, South Africa Sculptor & culturalist and, Felix Morelo, New York street artist.
