The party has materialised as a union of minority parties, including the National Freedom Party, African Amalgamated Restorative Movement, and Independent Citizens Movement. The minority parties have relinquished their individual positions on the 2024 general election ballot, opting instead to consolidate their support behind the unified banner of SARA.
