South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa says the Government of National Unity will expand the basket of essential food items exempt from VAT and identify areas where prices can be reduced. Ramaphosa spoke during the Opening of Parliament last week and hopes this measure will alleviate poverty in the midst of the high cost of living.
