On June 27, 2024, several Legacy Foundations made a call to “to the people of South Africa to join in a National Dialogue to reorientate the direction of our nation,” after many years of decline in which the promise of April 1994 had been broken. We do not claim to have been the first to have made such a call, it had in fact been made by many South Africans over the years. In light of the unrest in the USA against migrants - should FIFA move the World Cup from the USA 

South Africa’s matric, or National Senior Certificate (NSC), results often attract attention due to the seemingly high national pass rates. In recent years, these rates have averaged between 87 and 90 percent, which on the surface suggests significant progress in the education sector. However, these figures alone do not fully capture the quality of education or whether students are prepared to compete internationally.  Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is in conversation with Wits School of Education Professor, Prof. Leketi Makalela.
