In this episode of the Powerful Stories Podcast, we had the opportunity to hear from corporate superstar, tech innovator, mum of two and area vice-principal of Salesforce, Jo Gaines.

We start our conversation talking about the importance of values. These have changed for Jo over the years but determination, equality and integrity are at the core of all she does and she shares how she incorporates these values into all she does.  Jo is a powerhouse when it comes to corporate life and has always been passionate about seeing others succeed against the odds.

Her corporate life came crashing down when her partner left her while she was pregnant with her second child. She found herself pregnant, working full-time with a 3-year-old and in the process lost her power.

In order to take back her strength Jo and joined a program called Wimp2Warrior, where she learnt to be a cage fighter! Here, we learnt how to take a physical, and metaphorical, punch to the face, and more importantly how to block those punches.

Jo has since learnt to step into her power, stop making excuses for being who she is and now has the confidence to back herself. Now, she mentors other women to empower themselves and take control of their futures.

And finally, we hear Jo’s three most powerful steps for stepping into your true power and potential.
