HEALTH ZONE: WHEN GRIEF COMES WITH GUILT - HEALING AFTER A LOVED ONE DIES BY SUICIDE

View descriptionShare

September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to have the conversations that are often uncomfortable, painful, and sometimes avoided altogether. When someone dies by suicide, the loss doesn’t end with the person who has passed. Families and loved ones are left behind carrying grief, confusion, anger, unanswered questions and, often, a painful sense of guilt asking themselves, “Could I have done something differently”. But grief after suicide is complicated, and there is no single way to process it. This morning, we want to create space for that conversation. We’ll look at what happens to the people left behind, how families can support one another, how they can work through guilt and blame, and why seeking professional help can be an important part of healing.
