When someone we love passes away, we often think about grief, memories, and saying our final goodbye, but there’s also the practical side of things that can quickly become complicated especially when it comes to property. If a home or property was jointly owned, what actually happens next? Does it automatically go to the surviving partner, or can it become part of the deceased’s estate?
