Africa Day is often filled with celebration, colour and pride, but beneath the spirit of unity, there’s a growing tension that continues to threaten the African dream. Afrophobia and xenophobia have become painful reminders of how quickly fear, frustration and economic hardship can turn neighbour against neighbour. We are in conversation with African Political Campaigns Expert, Elvis Mugari as we unpack how afrophobia and xenophobia continue to divide communities, damage social cohesion and weaken the vision of a united Africa. We also explore what fuels these attitudes and how they affect ordinary lives.
