The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) has noted a letter by a group of American lawmakers to President Joe Biden's administration to punish South Africa for what Capitol Hill sees as the country's support of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.  The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) provides duty-free access to the US trade market for about three dozen African nations. South Africa, exported about R60 billion worth of goods to the US through AGOA last year.
