Twenty-year-old James Donnelly is walking home from a party when he is hit and killed by a car, with the driver fleeing the scene. There are no witnesses and all that is left at the scene are some small fragments of the car, but that's all that two investigators need to hunt the killer, find answers for a grieving family and help change Victorian law forever.
