The A3 southbound carriageway will be closed between Petersfield & Horndean from 9pm tonight (Friday, 25 October) until 6am on Monday, 28 October. 

It's the second full weekend closure of the same stretch of road for National Highways to carry out resurfacing work.

Former army officer Chris Moon lives with just one arm and one leg after he was injured in a minefield accident in Mozambique.

Today he inspires people to take control of their lives no matter what challenges they face, never to play the victim, and he encourages people to count their blessings and smile to promote good mental health outcomes.

Chris came to Petersfield to speak to students at Churcher's College. Shine Radio's Stephen Martin met him there.

The Poppy Appeal now underway, reminds us that some former soldiers and veterans may suffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Veterans Drop-in Group is open to any veterans or family members, and offers support.

Lesley Farrow, currently the Town Mayor, was a military wife for 37 years and set the group up with Chris Paige, from the Royal British Legion

Lesley spoke to Mike Waddington about the work of the group and invites veterans and their families to come along - held at Winton House, on the first Thursday of the month, from 4pm to 8pm; just drop in.
