This week we’re at Petersfield’s Festival Hall at the East Hampshire Dementia Festival. 

This is the fourth dementia festival, which is now an annual event. The idea for it originally came from Dementia Champion and Coronation Volunteer Champion, Jeff Williams. Jeff passed away shortly after last year’s Dementia Festival, but his legacy continues.

The PPod October 15th Festival Hall in Petersfield

Jack Finch hears from Dominic Merritt who is a councillor for our neighbouring town as the exciting "Midhurst Christmas Street Party" is coming up on the 6th of December. The event takes place during the evening from 5-8pm and includes a range of family friendly fun with the town centre's shops open for Christmas shopping. The event is situated in the ancient heart of Midhurst's picturesque "old town" area with market stalls, fun fair rides, live music, carols, food and much more.

Homestart Butser and its 80 volunteers supported 263 families and 365 people in the last year.

They raise all their own funds. 

For one week only -  from 3 to 10 December -  every pound donated to them that week  is doubled by another organisation. 

Put the date in the diary; whatever you donate that week (and that week only) is doubled - making your generosity even more valuable to them.

Homestart’s Nicola Winter spoke to Mike Waddington about  the Big Give Challenge and their work across Petersfield and surrounding areas, to give families facing difficulties practical help.
