the P pod - Petersfield personalities - 27 March 2023: Seed Swap

On Sunday 13 September the March for Men with Kev took place. It's a community walk held in honor of Kevan Birkett, who died from prostate cancer in May 2023.

Participants chose from three routes: 2.5K, 5K, or 10K. 

Mike Waddington and Julie Butler report from the event marshaling point in the Town Square - we hear from participants and why they are walking, from Town Mayor, Councillor Jamie Matthews and others.

Lastly we hear from Kev's partner Claire,

On the day before, 309 men took up the  Prostate health tests (PSA) organised by Petersfield Lions and PCaSO.

The march raises awareness and funds for:
Prostate Cancer UK – supporting research and PSA testing campaigns
PCaSO (Prostate Cancer Support Organisation) – providing local support for men with prostate cancer
The Rosemary Foundation – offering hospice-at-home care for those with life-limiting conditions

Very loosely inspired by Chaucer’s Nun’s Priest’s Tale, the award-winning comedy involves anthropomorphic chickens, a faithless cockerel, a jilted hen bent on revenge and some decidedly unusual language.

Laura Sheppard talks to James and Izzy about playing multiple characters at breakneck speed, the strange world created by writer Dougie Blaxland and what happens when your co-star is also the person you go home with.
