Recipe: Christmas traditions from a Petersfield radio breakfast host

Astronomical twilight overlaps in the Petersphere this time of year so there's no true night and with the Summer Solstice taking place on June 20th we will bask in more than sixteen and a half hours of daylight!

We find out about the 13th sign of zodiac in this month's Sky Watch and how to view noctilucent clouds too.

With the sun currently nearing the height of its 11-year activity cycle we're far enough north to get the auroras when the solar activity is high.  This year we could be getting noctilucent clouds and auroras at once!

Thakeham Homes proposes 54 new homes on allocated land off The Causeway in Petersfield.

But some local residents feel their concerns about the proposed development are not being heard.

People who live close to the site are worried about flooding and how new traffic calming measures along The Causeway could add congestion and affect safety.

Their district councillor John Hutchinson has taken-up their cause.

He and seven local residents spoke to Shine Radio's Stephen Martin to explain why they believe their knowledge of the community is not being sufficiently acknowledged by the developer.

We also hear from Thakeham Homes director Tristan Robinson who responds to the residents' points and answers their questions.
