Drinking with Phill and Mags - May '25

Audrey Morton from Dementia Friendly Petersfield says this is an important opinion survey and people should not hold back from recording their view about what it is like for them if they have dementia or are caring for someone with the disease. 

She’s filling it in herself; it’s anonymous so say what you need to.

Many groups, including Dementia Friendly Petersfield, are putting it on Facebook and at meetings so all views can be collected - in writing as well as online.

Audrey says, "the front tine" - people with dementia or carers - needs to be heard but also needs to be spoken.

Hampshire County Council say:  

We want to know what matters to you – people living with dementia, families, carers and anyone with experience to share.

The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete and closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 12 April 2026.

Almost 150 people attended the funeral in St Mary Magadalen in Sheet, to loud big band music on Wednesday 11 March.

Survived by his wife and daughter, mother and brother, Martin was a Petersfield Town Councillor but was most known for the 61 charity markets organised over the years to raise funds for cancer servces and research, with his brother Jeremey, who delivered an affectionate tribute at the event.

At the Annual Meeting of the Town, held at the Festival Hall, South Downs National Park Authority presented “Together Now for Nature, Climate and People” along with how much funding has gone back into Petersfield since 2017 to fund many projects within our town

We spoke to Chief Executive, Siôn  McGeever, and Director of Place Making Tim Slaney.
