Suddenly Autumn is looming but we will keep you warm with thoughts of wine harvests, and whiskey, with and without an e, as both drink and investment. Mags shares some drinking days and we discuss Sober October and the merits of apple juice.

We feature an interview with Hambledon vineyard just as they start their wine harvest, the earliest ever on the estate.

Drinking with Phill and Mags - October 2025

Anxious to learn the answer Phill Humphries, of Drinking with Phill and Mags, visited the Hambledon vineyard to ask how this year's harvest is looking.

Hambledon vineyard is not only our closest vineyard but it is the oldest commercial vineyard in the UK.  This week they are starting to harvest the grapes that will make their sparkling wine. 

 Caron Fanshaw from the vineyard shared some of her harvest time excitement...

This month we are talking Turkey - the country not the bird.  Phill has been visiting the London Wine Fair and finally deliver on our promise to talk about low and no alcohol wines - there are some which we like and others which are less successful.  We console ourselves with a chat about the aperitivo and some drinking days including a cracking breakfast martini which would suit Paddington down to the ground.
