Planning Playtime for Kids

View descriptionShare

Play is important. It helps in a child’s development and can strengthen bonds between children and caregivers.

In this episode Kate and Amy Nielson of Planning Playtime talk about play. Amy shares her unique upbringing in a family of 12 children, where she was homeschooled and often had to teach herself. She talks about her work in creating resources for parents and teachers to make learning fun for young children.

Amy emphasizes the importance of both structured and free play, and how her programs aim to prepare children for school while also fostering communication and relationship building. And she has a new certification program to train more teachers and parents to become elite reading coaches.
