(interview aired on 27/05/2025) The Handlers is a tribute to the strength of the Māori and Pasifika generations who kept Aotearoa moving — even when history tried to erase their contributions.

Sepelini Mua’au  is an actor, writer, director, tutor, new father, and PhD candidate — and a vital emerging leader in Aotearoa’s theatre scene.

Waitahi Aniwaniwa McGee is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in live performance. They have worked across various roles—including Assistant Director, Stage Manager, Actor, Puppeteer, Producer, and Sound Designer

This year, as part of Kia Mau Festival’s commitment to uplifting Indigenous artists, Sepe has been given the opportunity to co-direct a Mainstage work and Waitahi is one of four cast in "The Handlers".
