We’re kicking off Week 1 of Talanoa Ako with two educators who know our rangatahi: Alisi Tatafu, Mangere College, Auckland & Alapasita Lavaka,Otahuhu School, Auckland.

This first Talanoa focuses on helping families and parents support their children as they return to the school rhythm. Whether your child is starting school, moving up to a new year level, or beginning at a new school, those early weeks can be a significant adjustment.

We discuss practical things parents can do at home, such as setting simple routines, taking time to listen, and keeping expectations realistic, so our kids feel supported, settled, and ready for the year ahead.
