We’re joined now by Tavite Tonga, trombone player extraordinaire.
Tavite has been playing the trombone for 10 years. As a trombonist, he is involved in the Manukau Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Youth Orchestra, Manukau Concert Band, and Auckland City Brass Band.
Tavite is currently in his second year of studying a Bachelor of Music/Arts Conjoint. He majors in Classical Performance on the Trombone and studies under Doug Cross, Principal Trombone of the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra.
His arts major is Criminology. Aside from playing in ensembles and studying at university, Tavite is also quite an active educator, currently teaching at Sacred Heart College, Papatoetoe Intermediate, Kedgley Intermediate and at the Howick School of Music.
