A public consultation Proposals for a Smokefree Aotearoa 2025 Action Plan, is currently underway until 5pm, 31 May 2021, being run by the Ministry of Health.
Although the number of smokers is declining, Pacific Peoples still have the second highest rates of smoking in New Zealand.
Next to Māori, Pacific communities are the most impacted from the harm that smoking tobacco causes.
