Attending screenings important for cancer prevention in Pasifika

View descriptionShare

Today is World Cancer Day, led by the Union for International Cancer Control, it is all about raising worldwide awareness, improving education and a collective call to action on cancer prevention and access to life-saving treatment, no matter who you are and where you live. Many in our community have lost a loved one to cancer. As Pacific, there are studies that show the inequalities in our health system prevent or delay our community from accessing cancer care and treatment. Waikato University’s Professor of Population Health, Ross Lawrenson speaks to Pacific Breakfast about some of his research on Pasifika and cancer. (Photo: Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition)
