Jama’l Talagi-Veidreyaki also known as Silauana, was born and raised in Niue. Culture, customs and traditions are an important part of life growing up. Recieved tertiary education in Fiji at the University of the South Pacific and New Zealand at the University of Auckland. She served as a public servant for the Government of Niue over 10 years. Jamal now works as a full time Niue consultant, researcher and community projects manager, specialising in the areas of climate change, agriculture, biodiversity, and civil society. Founder of the Niue Women Alliance for Climate Justice movement and The Niue Culture and Language Bridging Course, Jama'l credits the knowledge that helped shape this movement to the women of her community, Makefu Falekaho-Atua, the Women of Niue's West Coast communities, Government of Niue and civil society at large.
