The newly crowned Miss Niue Aotearoa 2019-2020 Liana Vaipa Rice is of Niuean, Samoan and Irish heritage.  A singer/songwriter from Kingsland, Auckland hails from the villages of Mutalau and Liku. Liana was raised by her grandparents Linovai Vaipa & Togiatama Toniu.  She attended the PIC Newton church with her great-grandmother Vaipa Tauetau and learnt Vagahau Niue by taking part in White Sunday.  

She has been pursuing a music career for the past four years and has achieved international success with Grammy Award winning band LInkin Park.  Liana has done two national tours around Aotearoa and currently works with New Zealand Youth by helping them create their own careers in music. In her spare time she hangs out with her multicultural family who support her with everything she does.
